With today's fast paced development environment, keeping the lines of communication open between development and QA teams is crucial for delivering top-notch products.
One effective way to foster this collaboration is by integrating QA feedback directly into the development workflow.
Read-only users, as a feature, makes this integration smoother.
Why do you need Read-Only Users?
Inviting your development team to participate in the QA process has immediate benefits, starting with a deeper understanding of testing methodologies, defect tracking, and reporting.
This insight empowers developers to write higher-quality code from the start, reducing the chances of introducing defects in the first place.
Read-only users can view all the Test cases, runs and defects, but without the access to edit them.
With visibility into QA activities, developers can work more closely with QA engineers. They gain a clearer picture of the challenges the QA team faces and can provide feedback that helps streamline the development process.
Read-only users can add comments* on cases, defects to communicate with the QA team directly.
This improved collaboration ensures that both teams are on the same page, leading to faster issue resolution.
With Read-only access, your engineers can not only view the linked test cases, runs and defects on Jira, but access them on Qase directly.
When developers have access to QA information, they can quickly spot issues related to their code and address them more efficiently. This access cuts down the time spent resolving defects and enhances the overall quality of the product.
Imagine a scenario where a developer is fixing a bug based on QA feedback. With read-only access to test results and logs, there’s no need to constantly ask the QA team for updates. Developers can directly see the relevant information, incorporate it into their workflow, and resolve the issue much more promptly.
Qase offers read-only users, at minimal cost!
You can invite your development, or product team and key stakeholders to your workspace, giving them full visibility into your testing efforts.
Pricing for Read-Only licenses:

Business | $3 per RO user/month | $2 per RO user/month |
(RO = Read only)
* Currently, RO users can add comments but cannot mention other users in the comments.
How to invite Read-Only Users?
To invite someone - regardless of whether you are inviting a regular or a Read-only user - you should have the necessary permissions. If you are a Read-only user yourself, you will not be able to invite anyone.
If your user type and role allow you to invite others into the workspace, to send an invitation, go to the "Invites" page.
On the invites page, click "Invite new member":
When setting up an invitation to invite someone as a Read-only user, check the respective box:
If the "Read-only" checkbox is checked, it does not matter which Role you select above: Read-only type will override any role permissions.
